Thank you for taking a look, Mike.
Malus Spring 2020 Cover
You’ve already seen this one on the website but I think it’s worth highlighting because it shows an aesthetic aerial view of a plot of land; I could see this type of perspective being used in the work you described.
Spring Rain in Downtown Boise
This was a commission I completed for NOAA Fisheries in Boise. I wanted to highlight it because they asked for two specific buildings to be included, along with the foothills in the background. While all of these elements don’t align in real life, I was able to pull each of them and compile into one image, which hopefully resides somewhere between realistic and illustrative; also balancing nature with architecture.
Logo Concept Design
While unrelated to the task you’ve outlined, I wanted to share this work because it incorporates a large amount of digital design completed in Photoshop but used a watercolor painting as the base layer. It might be hard to see, but the compass, text, and other map elements were created separately and added in later on. This piece was interesting because I was transcribing the client’s concept that only existed in their mind onto paper.
Postcard Design
I visited this small restaurant/general store/gas station/lodge/post office in Central, Alaska last August while on an artist residency with the Bureau of Land Management. It was the only store in town, and has probably served as the town hall many times as well. They were interested in getting a postcard designed of their building in the winter; This was a fun project because I only had my summer photos as reference.
Digital Rendering
Here’s another rendering example which incorporates two separate watercolor paintings with digital design work.
Below are several different watercolor paintings which I thought could apply in some way to the task; rendering of objects such as buildings and vehicles, as well as people depicted within scenes.

Will conclude with a close up look at a few pieces:
9.5” x 12” watercolor.
Thank you for considering me for the work!
